THE SUMMER OF LOVE

Perhaps more than any other art form, music has the ability to evoke textures, moods and images. As filmmakers we have always relied on music to create a feeling that words or images cannot describe but when combined with words and images can somehow create transcendent moments in film. For many filmmakers, music is traditionally the last piece of the puzzle incorporated in the editing process.

But what if we use music as the starting point? What if we allow this music to be the well from which springs forth the film? These are the questions we asked ourselves and the answer we came up with was "The Summer of Love", a story inspired and driven by the most powerful music of the greatest era in America, the "American Renaissance", the 60's.

Più di ogni arte, la musica ha la capicità di suscitare sentimenti ed immagini. Come cineasta, abbiamo sempre usato la musica per creare un atmosfera e feeling che le parole e le immagini non possono rendere. E quando messo assieme con le immagini e parole, la musica crea davvero momenti trascendenti nel film.

Per tradizione, la musica é l'ultimo elemento di un film che va integrato nella fase di montaggio. Peró, se si usava la musica come punto di partenza….? Questa é la domanda che noi ci siamo chiesti e la risposta era "The Summer of Love". Una storia ispirata e trascinata dalla musica più bella, dal'epoca più grande della storia Americana, i mitici anni sessanta.
